Survey of Emergency Student Body

Emergency Management Student Body Survey Data

Emergency management curriculum is a more recent field of study. Over 300 programs are included to the FEMA Higher Education Program database, offering emergency management curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Last year, over 4,700 students graduated with degrees in emergency management. While several studies have identified program status, curriculum and aggregate enrollment for the academic field, few studies have surveyed the students. The purpose of this survey is to gather data to understand 1) reasons students are interested in this field of study, 2) student career goals who take emergency management courses, and 3) student perceptions on their personal workforce readiness.
